Getting cold, isn't it! Not that we needed an excuse for red wine, hot chocolates or lingering dinners but it all sounds good to me. With the onset of winter you can hear the whoosh of gas as the patio heaters crank up and people huddle under café umbrellas keeping warm with hot conversation. Our community in North Adelaide is built on connections and interaction. We live the village life, part of the action but happy not to be urbanised in rows of multistorey buildings. Knowing the storeowner, the mailman and the publican all help to give us our unique identity. This winter take the time to think about how you can get involved in the community either by contributing to charities, with old blankets and warm clothes or by helping build a stronger community. The Melbourne Street Group is always keen to get community involvement and would cherish additional members who can help plan events, give feedback to council or add enthusiasm to the group. Our major project, Panda Parade, is set to go, with Me-Jae ready to be exposed. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the biggest event happening in Adelaide this year, and help put Melbourne Street and North Adelaide in the forefront of people's thoughts.
